People learn at a young age how to act and behave and this shapes the future generations and the world they will create. Due to the majority of games these days involving violence, sex, drugs & crime, this is conditioning the youth of today to the sort of world they will create tomorrow. With the advent of Virtual Reality now making these violent games even more immersive and realistic where the boundaries between games and reality is shrinking by the day, it is imperative we take some social and moral responsibility and start using technology to help create a better world by improving people’s life’s as well as respecting the environment and planet that sustains us.
We wish to bring people together, build online communities, encourage people to reach out and help strangers for the greater good of all. To encourage people to come and work together and to show how everyone benefits if they put their differences aside and start all rowing together. It will model the real world and also act as a simulation and training environment for how to make the real world a better place.

With over 4000 likes on our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/ourworldthegame), which is growing daily, this very important project is being very well received and we constantly receive glowing feedback of how much of a wonderful good idea this is, one that is needed more than ever in today’s world!

We actually started researching, planning & designing this over six years (we have also been busy networking, building partnerships, etc) ago but we could not yet afford the large amount of money it would take to create this. On top of this, the technology did not yet exist to create the vision, but this is now changing. When Pokémon Go was released featuring more primitive versions of some of the technology featured in Our World, we realised we really need to get this game into production. This was further amplified when our founder just finished reading the amazing novel Ready Player One, which featured the OASIS VR Platform, which is the closest thing we have found to date to Our World. We need your investment so we can first produce a prototype to demo to interested parties. We can then get more investment to get the first version of this game released. This game will have continuous development with frequent upgrades and add-ons. It is so vast, that the development roadmap is never ending.

Crossword software for The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sun. This was written in WPF (the same technology used for Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 & Windows 10 so also has the same dazzling visuals and smooth animation) and so is modern and up to date and better than any other crossword software out there. This is the brain child of David Ellams BSc(Hons) and David Akenhead, who is the Crossword consultant for The Times and ex Crossword Editor for The Times and the family name is famous within the crossword circles.
His father Edmund Akenhead invented the Jumbo Crossword Books and was also a top Crossword Editor for The Times. David Ellams is the founder of NextGen Software Ltd and is highly skilled and experienced within his field, he has been in the industry for over 16 years and has worked with all the big names.

NextGen Crosswords
Akom Word Game
This is a scrabble like game that was written entirely in Silverlight from the ground up. It allows users to try and make as many words as they can within the time limit. More points are rewarded for larger words. Their best attempt is then submitted to the highscore table online. The winner of each day then received a prize and is show cased in the game. Each day a new random selection of letters are generated for users to create words from.

Nokia Music App
Our founder David Ellams BSc (Hons) was part of a new joint initiative from Microsoft & Nokia to create a new global mobile ecosystem to compete with Apple and Google. He was part of a team of six creating the next generation software and apps for Windows Phone (7.5 (Mango) and 8 (Apollo)). David was part of a team developing the critically acclaimed Nokia Music app, which is one of Nokia's flagship app's, for which you may have seen the adverts for as well as the good reviews.

As part of this David also re-wrote their GPS code making it more efficient. Nokia said he was one of the best contractors they had seen and was the only one taken on with just a telephone interview.

NextGen Software
Silverlight Website
This was the original Silverlight website for NextGen Software. Silverlight is a very powerful plugin for most browsers similar to Flash. This website showed off what we are capable off as well as what Silverlight can do. Unfortunately since HTML5 has now become the main web technology used, plugins such as Silverlight & Flash are being made redundant. This why we were forced to design this brand new HTML5 website to replace it, we still feel the original was more fancy with many animation and 3D effects such as when you change page. The 3D Carousel is also another of our favorite areas. So please ensure you check it out by pressing the "VIEW" button above. Please note the old Silverlight website has now been updated in a while so the content is now a little out of date, it now stands simply as a demo of what we are technically capable off. The entire site was written by hand without any fancy tools or designers, all hand crafted XAML, which is what Silverlight runs off.

Shadow Fighter
This was the founder's first proper game written in low-level C++ and DirectX 4 as his final year project for his degree in Computing And Informatics at The University of Plymouth, in which he was awarded a 1st class honors degree for. The degree is rated as the hardest degree the University has to offer and he came top of his class in all technical modules. The School of Computing for the University is also rated as one of the top five in the country by The Times.
The game is a parallel scrolling shoot em up and was deeply inspired by Babylon 5 and Raiden, as may become apparent. It plays in a similar way to Raiden in that you have a primary, secondary and special weapon. The primary and secondary weapon can be upgraded both in power and spread (the number of projectiles that can be launch simultaneously). It has a number of end of level bosses as well as about 25 levels with an engrossing story line. It also features a number of hidden cheats and Easter eggs. David Ellams created a number of the music sound tracks, sound effects, synthesised speech, graphics as well as the story line as well of course also designing and coding the game itself.
All of this was done in about 4 months, which is pretty impressive considering it normally takes a team of developers and years to make a game, plus also this was his first game and the first time he had used DirectX or written anything low level within C++.
Be sure to watch out for the sequels planned Shadow Fighter 2 (which will be an up to date 2D version similar to the first but will be improved in every way) and Shadow Fighter 3D. Both will be available for PC, XBOX, Windows Phone and Windows Tablet.

3D Generator
This was David Ellams first 3D application/game and allowed any 2D shape to be wrapped around the Y axis forming a full 3D object. The 2D shape could be drawn onto a canvas before being transformed into 3D. It allowed the object to be rotated about either the X, Y or Z axis. It allowed for scaling, zooming and for the camera position to be re-positioned anywhere. It also allowed for the colour of the object to be customised. Finally it also allowed the object to be viewed in wireframe mode.

3D Generator GL
This was the sequel to the 3D Generator, but this time it was hardware accelerated by OpenGL. This allowed for many more special effects to be applied such as multiple coloured light sources. Each could be toggled on or off, the colour and position could also be changed. It allowed a number of predefined textures to be applied to the object. It also allowed all of the controls from previous version.

Lost For Words
This was the prequel to the Lost For Words game above. It was written in VB6, it worked in a similar way but did not feature any online highscore table, only a local one. This was written back in the early days around the same time as Snake 3000.

Q Manager
This was written a very long time ago and was David Ellams' first major application released for shareware. Like most things he created this was light years ahead of the competition, it allowed multiple files to be copied and queued up at the same time. It allowed files/folders to be paused and resumed later on. It worked very similar to a Download Manager but hooked in and integrated with Windows. So when they did a normal copy command in Windows it override the default Windows Copy behavior. It was very advanced for its time (15 years ago) and still to this day Windows does not have this built in! It also featured real-time progress bars and allowed items to be moved up and down the queue. This tool got round the problem of when you wanted to copy multiple folders in different places at different times not to cause Windows to grind to a halt as it attempted to copy everything at once! We may dust this off and revamp it for Windows 10 sometime in the future...
Snake 3000
This was David Ellams's first game written in VB6 back in his early years, it featured AI players as well as network code to allow up to 4 players to play at a time. It also featured a chat room for players to talk before a game began. It featured a number of different game modes as well as music and sound effects.
