So, we have now been split into two: - Chatter and General Discussion.
The question this leaves me with is, what is the difference between Chatter and General Discussion?
OK, with the word games it is easy - these threads are fun, mindless, chatter. But what about threads about "local words" and "police cars in traffic jams" are they not chatter too? Or perhaps it is the responses from the posters themselves that make a thread chatter or general discussion?
If I started a thread about what kind of shoes people like, I would expect it to be chatter. But, if some of the people replying started a discussion about how feminism in the 20th Century had a direct influence on women's choice in shoes, would it not become general discusison?
Does anyone else have problems with the distinction between chatter and general discussion? And how do you decide where to start your threads? Or is it just me?
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
